FAQ About Master's Degrees in Ireland
When is the application deadline?
For September 2026 intakes, the application deadline is April 30. Note: Some universities may be more flexible.
Do I have to take the IELTS exam?
The Irish government now accepts the Duolingo English Test for all programs. The Duolingo exam costs about €45 (RM230 / SGD70), while the IELTS exam costs about €200 (RM1,000 / SGD300).
Can I apply without an English proficiency score?
Yes, you can apply. If your academic background is considered sufficient, the university may issue a Conditional Offer. This means your offer will become unconditional once you submit proof of English proficiency.
What is the minimum GPA required?
Some universities require a minimum GPA of 2.0 out of 4, while others require at least 2.6.
Do universities offer scholarships?
NCI offers about €2,000 (RM10,000 / SGD3,000) scholarships to students with a GPA above 2.60, and about €4,000 (RM20,000 / SGD6,000) scholarships to students with a GPA above 3.00. Griffith College offers scholarships between about €2,600 and €3,600 (RM13,000 to RM18,000 / SGD3,900 to SGD5,400), depending on both GPA and English proficiency. DBS provides about €1,000 (RM5,000 / SGD1,500) to students who pay their deposit after receiving the offer letter and complete the remaining payment before the course start date.
Can I work while studying?
Yes. During summer and Christmas holidays, you are allowed to work full-time, and part-time during the rest of the year. As of January 1, 2025, the minimum wage in Ireland is €14.15 per hour (RM70 / SGD21), making Ireland one of the countries with the highest minimum wages in the world.
Do I have the right to work in Ireland after graduation?
Graduates of master's programs in Ireland are granted a 2-year work and residence permit. With this permit, you can work full-time in Ireland after graduation.
Do I need health insurance?
Yes. Health insurance is required for immigration registration in Ireland. We arrange suitable student insurance for you. The typical cost is around €120 (RM600 / SGD180), and we cover this cost for students who register with us.
Is it easy to make friends in Ireland?
Yes. Irish people are known to be friendly and social. We also organize regular meetups and events so students can connect, share experiences, and settle in faster.
Will you help me with my accommodation arrangement?
Yes. We support you through the accommodation process in Ireland, and we do not charge an accommodation arrangement fee. We guide you on options, budget, location, and booking steps so you can secure housing with confidence.
